TEDDY
Partipaws Tattoo Teddy
06.12.2009 -23.07.2010

Teddy was one of 3 pups born on December 2009. It was a very exciting litter as firstly it was my debut litter for my kennel and a first step for my parti breeding program, it was also exciting to see 2 years worth of research pay off. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see so much achieved in one litter especially being my first. All three boys were lovely in type, 2 were correctly marked, one was borderline not enough white for show(in my opinion), but one puppy just stood out from the rest and from day one I knew he was the one for me.

Our little chunky orange and white bundle of joy was fondly nick named 'fat teddy' for the first few weeks of his life; as he was the biggest of the three and a very chunky compact boy with lots of coat. It was only fitting that we kept the name Teddy and create a registered name to fit with the theme as well as reflect his unique markings - It was then that he became our Partipaws Tattoo Teddy, a first for our kennel, a name to be heard out at the show ring and a name never to be forgotten.

Teddy was an absolute joy to show. Such a smart little boy who seemed to know exactly what needed to be done and he would give it his all time and time again. Never did he have an off day, he never stepped a foot wrong! His presence in the ring was well obvious, judges would comment highly on him, bystanders would often approach me to admire him and ask about him, it was just amazing! From his first show Teddy began to build a fan club, many people I had never met before, some were judges, some pom exhibitors and enthusiasts and the rest exhibitors of other breeds. This little pom had an uncanny way of drawing people into him and from him I have met so many wonderful people who I now call my friends.

Teddy achieved some wonderful mild stones for a parti colour pom during his very short show career. He was always short listed in the sweepstakes classes, he was always placed in the breed classes except one time, he was placed 2nd place baby puppy dog at the April Pom specialty show over 7 solid coloured puppies, he was awarded group at the Castle Hill Ag Show and he was 2nd place 3-6 months Sweepstakes at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The important thing to mention is that on many occasions Teddy saw himself awarded over the solid coloured competition, which is almost unheard of in Australia for a parti coloured Pom.

At home Teddy was my pride and joy. I would stare and admire him for hours on end, in my eyes he was just so beautiful and a dream come true. He was always the first to get to me, He loved his toys and especially loved the game fetch, His favorite toy was a giant sized black and white cow, who goes by the name of "Giant Moo" Although double the size of Teddy, teddy would take him everywhere dragging it by the end of its tail. Moo came to the shows with us, he would accompany Teddy when he went to sleep at night and often I would find him sucking on Moo's foot even at the age of 8 months.

I could go on and on about Teddy and all his little antics, but the best way I can describe him is simply that he was many dogs in one, he was your lap dog, one to hug and snuggle up with, he also had a wild side and would run and play, he had a serious side with his showing, he was just a perfect all rounder! He had the biggest personality for such a little pom, he would keep me entertained for hours. He was everything you could ask for in a beloved pet, a fur-kid, and a show dog when it came to temperament, quality and soundness, he would have gone on to achieve many things, be an ambassador for parti poms, other coloured poms and poms alike. And maybe he would have gone on to throw these wonderful traits to his offspring and create a strong future here at Partipaws Pomeranians.

With so much achieved in such short amount of time, and having touched many hearts across the world, we truly believed Teddy's future would be a bright one. Unfortunately with a sudden turn of events Teddy closed his eyes and grew his angel wings on Sunday 23rd of July.

We are left heartbroken with his loss. We are still in shock and still trying to come to terms with all that has happened! Teddy will be sorely missed but never ever will he be forgotten! His memory will live on through the fond memories I have of him, I also hope a parto of him will always be in his lovely Mum Gucci, his handsome grandsire Bundy and hopefully Teddy will live on through his unborn brothers or sister when and if they arrive in December.

During such heartbreak it was tempting to close up kennel and give up, having experienced the loss of our first bred baby. But as the weeks past and we grow stronger we realise that this is what you sign up for when you enter the breeding and showing world. Owning more then one dog opens you up to more then one heartbreak! But life is nothing without your poms! Accepting this fact we are now more determined then ever to see our parti colours out in the ring and promoting the colour. Teddy has made huge progress paving the way for our coloured poms here in Australia and I truly believe Teddy would want us to keep pursuing our dreams and have his siblings and relations follow in his footsteps to success. So to keep Teddy's Legacy alive and in memory of him we will continue to chase our dreams with breeding/improving and promoting the parti colour Pomeranian here in Australia.

RIP my sweet Teddy.
