Home-Made Dog Food Recipe
Description: Home-Made Dog Food Recipe Beef Meat-and-Potato Diet for Dogs Related Story The Washington Post, May 2, 2007 Summary: Veterinarian and pet nutritionist Donald R. Strombeck developed this to be fed as a daily homemade diet. It is formulated for a 29-pound dog; if your dog is lighter or heavier, adjust the amounts accordingly. It would be a good idea to divide the completed meal into two portions and feed twice, morning and evening. Bone meal tablets (powder can be used, too) are available at stores such as the Vitamin Shoppe; do not use bone meal meant for gardening uses. Human-grade vitamin and mineral tablets may be used. If you'd like, a half-cup of cooked vegetables -- asparagus, broccoli, carrots, peas and squash are a few possibilities -- may be added. 1 full serving or 2 half-servings for a 29-pound dog
